Ghana international midfielder; Kwadwo Asamoah was left on the bench when Juventus thrashed Sevilla 3-1 away in the Champions League on Tuesday evening to reach the round of 16.
Juventus came from behind in first half injury time and powered penalty from Claudio Marchisio after Nicolas Pareja had given the hosts the lead just closed to 10 minutes into the game.
Franco Vasquez was sent off in the first half, however, Leonardo Bonucci’s low shot from behind the box in the 85th minute left goalkeeper Sergio Rico defenseless.
Mario Mandzukic added to the tally with another goal in injury time to give the Italian champions a heroic win as they announce their readiness to win the Champions League title this season.
Asamoah was left on the bench despite the midfielder playing the full game in last weekend’s defeat to Pescara.
The Ghanaian has been having challenges with injuries from the previous season, relapsing at intervals. It is his hope to make himself available for selection into Black Stars team for January’s Africa Cup of Nations in Gabon next year.
