In his new appointments today for the various ministries of his NPP Government, Ghana’s new President Nana Addo Danquah Akuffo-Addo has appointed Hon. Isaac Asiamah as the new Youth and Sports Minister designate for the nation and currently he is also the Member of Parliament for Atwima Mponua.
The President stressed on the experience of Hon. Asiamah as a leading sports personnel in the Parliamentary select committee for Sports. He explained that the position needs someone who shares a great relationship with the managerial hierarchy of the various Sports Associations in Ghana of which Hon. Asiamah possesses. Nana further touched on the honourable’s experience as a table tennis player and other sporting disciplines.
His Excellency, President Akuffo-Addo emphasized on Ghana’s love for sports, ” we have a special heritage and we have a proud heritage as a sporting nation”, he said. Therefore enlightening Hon. Asiamah on the kind of work he has been given.
Hon. Asiamah is due to succeed Hon. Nii lantey Vanderpujie after his approval by Parliament. He was widely tipped for this position as he enjoys a healthy relationship with the Executive members of the Ghana Football Association which has been the biggest test for most Ministers who have handled this position.
