RedBull Salzburg youngster Samuel Tetteh says he is elated to play his first match at the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations.
The 20-year-old winger featured for the Black Stars of Ghana against Egypt on Wednesday evening.
He was replaced in the second half of the game by Bernard Tepketey who also marked his debut for Ghana at the tournament.
Ghana suffered a 1-0 defeat to Egypt in their last Group D game at Stade de Port Gentil.
“I am very happy at the chance and I will say that I did well on the field even though we did not get the result we wanted” he told reporters after the game.
“I did not expect the chance to play. I have always yearned for the chance to prove myself and today, that dream came true.”
Tetteh was recalled to RedBull Salzburg following his stellar performance in the Austrian second-tier league with FC Liefering.
