AFCON 2019: Qualifying groups set

The groups for the qualification to AFCON 2019 to be hosted by Cameroon is set and the 54 countries on the African continent now knows which countries they are to beat if they will stand any chance of reaching Africa’s national topmost competition come January, 2019.

There are 12 groups and each group winner will qualify alongside the three best runners-up to join Cameroon who will automatically part as host of the competition to make the 16 nations for the tournament.

The grouping also suggests that should Cameroon top their group, the second placed side in Group B will have to contest the finals.

The qualifying matches are scheduled to start in June and end in November 2018.
