The draw for the sixth round of the English Emirates FA Cup has been made and there are four interesting matches to be played.
Chelsea secured their place in the sixth round with a 2-0 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers at the Molineux. Goals from Pedro Rodriguez, his 4th in the FA Cup and Diego Costa ensured Chelsea advanced to the quarter finals. Middlesbrough on the other hand took a 2-0 lead only for Oxford United to equalise to make it 2-2. A late goal ensured the Boros reached the sixth round at the expense of Oxford United.
It took a 90th minute goal from Lincoln City to beat Burnley at the Turf Moor to become the first non-league side since 1914 to have reached the sixth round of the English FA Cup. The non-league side secured their place in the quarters and will like to advance to the next round. Same applied to Championship side, Millwall as they also needed a 90th minute winner to beat struggling Leicester City 1-0 to secure their place in the sixth round.
A Hary Kane hattrick was the difference as Tottenham Hotspurs beat their London rivals, Fulham 3-0 at the Craven Cottage to secure their place in the sixth round. The English scored three times from Christian Eriksen’s layoff to hand Spurs qualification and passage to the next round. Huddersfield Town and Manchester City has all to play for in 10 days time as both sides failed to win. The Citizens created more chances but couldn’t break the resolute and resilient Huddersfield side at their own backyard. City will like to make amends when both sides meet at the Etihad on February 28.
A tactical switch by manager, Jose Mourinho was the difference as Manchester United came from a goal down to beat Blackburn Rovers 2-1 to reach the sixth round. Blackburn has taken the lead in the 18th minute through Daniel Graham from Marvin Amnes explicit layoff but Marcus Rashford levelled for United before Pogba and Ibrahimovic came off the bench, combining to give the Red devils a win at Ewood Park. Arsenal travels to Sutton Town on Monday to complete the fifth round ties.
