The Premier League has announced that Thailand Company, Carabao, producers of Carabao Energy Drinks will for the next three years starting August 2017 sponsor the English Football League.
The EFL which was won by Manchester United after beating Southampton 3-2 had no headline sponsor after Capital One reign ended after the 2016 final.
The three year deal is worth 18 million pounds and the EFL will from next season be named the Carabao EFL.
Carabao was founded in 2002 by Thai folk singer and celebrity Aed Carabao. The logo of a buffalo skull featuring a red bird is one of Thailand’s most recognisable commercial symbols.
Carabao is already a partner with Reading and Chelsea and is an official drink of Chelsea Football Club after signing a three year deal with the league leaders in 2016.
