Leicester City was promoted back to the Premier League in the 2014/2015 league season and lied at the bottom of the league under Nigel Pearson who was the manager that masterminded their promotion back to the English top flight.
The English defied all odds and broke the record of team lying at the bottom of the league at the end of the Christmas fixtures not surviving as he went on a rampage winning 11 out of the last 12 PL games with the only setback coming against the eventual winners, Chelsea at the King Power stadium. Leicester City thus finished 12th on the league table.
Nigel Pearson was given the exit before the start of the new season, the 2015/2016 season with Claudio Ranieri succeeding the English and going all out to win the PL in his first season at Leicester City defying all odds to win the league in style.
Ranieri started the current season and just less than 8 months in charge, he has been axed after leaving the Foxes in the relegation zone and losing the first leg of the 2016/2017 UCL Round of 16.
Assistant manager, Craig Shakespeare has been tasked to take over the club till a new manager is appointed.
