Former coach of Medeama SC, Tom Strands has confirmed his interest in the vacant Black Stars Coaching job.
Strands said one of his trump card is the number of years he has spent in Ghana coaching Medeama SC and Bechem United.
“It will be a big honour to apply for this job and to be leading the Ghana Black Stars to win medals.
“I hope to bring a good philosophy and attacking football to the Ghana Federation and and also hope to bring Ghana medals at the end of the campaign.
” I have been in Ghana for a long time and I know the player is the Ghana Premier League and that will help me on how to use them to deliver for the National team”. he said on Boss FM, in Kumasi this afternoon.
He explained that giving the local players the chance to play in the National Team would give the coach more options to choose from to make the team.
Tom Strands also touched on how he can handle the egos of the supposed “big boys” in the team. He said” when you play for Ghana, you play for the team and therefore I will choose players who are ready to play for their country”.
When asked about what he sees wrong with the Black Stars team, Tom emphasised that the team needs a strong game plan.
A six member Committee led by GFA President Kwesi Nyantakyi has been set up to search for a new coach for the Black Stars.
