Kotoko Ollenu Ashitey suffers muscle tear

Kumasi Asante Kotoko has announced via their twitter handle @Asantekotokosc that their starman and 29 shirted player, Ollenu Ashitey has suffered a muscle tear and will miss the weekend game.

The former Hearts of Oak player joined Kotoko at the start of this season and have been in scintillating form as his first four games in the Ghana Premier League attested to that. He has been a star performer alongside Emmanuel Gyamfi as Kotoko lies joint top with Aduana on 10 points.

He is expected to be out for a week and will miss the trip of Elmina Sharks to the Baba Yara stadium.

The update on Ollenu’s injury stated that:

“Ollenu Ashitey suffers muscle tear. Medical scans show he needs a week’s rest. He’s therefore out of Sunday’s game”.

Kotoko host Elmina Sharks on Sunday at 15:00GMT.
