Chelsea defensive midfielder, N’Golo Kante has won the Player of the Year at the 2017 London awards.
The former Leicester City player has been a standout performer for the Blues as they lead the Premier League table and are on course to win the 2016/2017 PL.
Kante joined Chelsea at the start of the season after helping the Foxes win the PL under Claudio Ranieri. He was an integral member of the title winning squad playing in all except one of Leicester City’s PL games.
Since joining Chelsea, he has provided the shield to Chelsea backline and has made more tackles than any other player in the PL. He scored against Manchester United Chelsea’s 4-0 drubbing of Man U.
Kante seeks to become the first outfield player to win the PL consecutively with two different clubs playing actively in both title winning seasons.
In other awards, Tottenham Hotspurs goalkeeper, Hugo Lloris and midfielder, Dele Alli was awarded with the goalkeeper of the Year and Young Player of the year at the 2017 London awards respectively.
Chelsea legend, Frank Lampard was also recognised for his outstanding contribution to London with the Outstanding Contribution award.
