Tennis: Querrey beats Nadal in straight sets to win 2017 Acapulco Open

US tennis player, Sam Querrey beat Spanish, Rafael Nadal in straight sets to win the 2017 Mexico Open.

The 40th seed beat the Spanish 6-3 7-6 (7-3) to claim the Acapulco Open.

Nadal has not lost a set going into the final but the American proved too strong for him as he beat in less than two hours to claim the title infront of a large crowd.

Nadal came in strongly in the second set after the first set has gone Querrey’s way, but succumbed to the American¬† who had beaten three players in the top ten of the ATP ranking and Britain’s Kyle Edmund, on his way to the final to capitalise and win his ninth ATP title.

In the Men’s doubles, Briton Jamie Murray, elder brother of Andy Murray and Brazilian, Bruno Soares beat American John Isner and Spain’s Feliciano Lopez 6-3 6-3 to win their fourth title since the pair came together last year.
