Manchester United have been drawn to play FC Rostov in the Round of 16 of the 2016/2017 UEFA EUROPA LEAGUE and ahead of the tie on Thursday, Rostov manager, Ivan Daniliants has retraited that the pitch will surprise Manchester United and they will still face a pitch problem.
UEFA has confirmed the home team will train at their nearby training ground rather than at the Olimp-2 in a bid to avoid unnecessary damage to the surface. The pitch was described “bad in all aspects” by the Manchester United last month when the draw was made and ahead of the tie, the Austrian who is taking of the Russian based club is quoted as saying; “The pitch is the same for everyone, but it will still be a problem.”
“In the final of the League Cup, United played on an ideal lawn – it was like a carpet.
“When they arrive here, they will be surprised.”
Manchester United travel to Rostov on Thursday for the first leg of the Round of 16 ties.
