GPL GAMEWEEK 6 SATURDAY REVIEW: Aduana Stars break their nemesis against Inter Allies

The 2016/2017 Ghana Premier League Matchday 6 started with league leaders, Aduana Stars making a trip to the capital to face Inter Allies.

The Dormaa based club were in to break their nemesis against the Accra based club as they had failed to win against Inter Allies at their home since Inter Allies came into the elite league in 2013. To worsen the case, they have failed to score since that time.

Inter Allies started on the strong foot and nearly grabbed the opener when they struck the post in the 23rd minute. Isaac Twum opened the scoring with arguably the last kick of the game as he planted a freekick at the blunt side of Stephen Adams in post for Aduana Stars.

The league leaders came strongly in the second and via the tactical variation of Coach Yusif Abubakar, Aduana grabbed the equaliser through Nathaniel Asamoah as he headed home from Godfred Saka’s dangerous cross.

Both sides pressed for the winner but it was Aduana Stars who grabbed a late goal as in-form Derrick Sasraku headed from a tight angle after Godfred Saka has sent in a corner kick at the near post in the 90th minute.

Aduana Stars saw to the end of the game and duly broke their nemesis of not scoring at the grounds of Inter Allies and also not winning.

Aduana with the win extended their lead at the top to three points awaiting Sunday games in the Ghana Premier League.
