The 2017 Miami Open which saw stars like Novak Djokovic, Andy Murray, Serena Williams among others pulling out due to various counts of injuries has reached its day two and it was a sad moment for Great Britain as they saw three of their competitors namely Kyle Edmund, Dan Evans and Heather Watson bow out of the competition. There was also a retirement for Aljaz Bendene after trailing in his game with Jan-Lennard Struff.
Kyle Edmund lost 2-6 7-6 (7-4) 6-2 to qualifier Jared Donaldson while world number 43, Dan Evans saw a point penalty point for swearing midway through the final set of his 7-5 0-6 6-3 to American qualifier Ernesto Escobedo.
Watson was beaten by Romanian qualifier, Patricia Maria Tig 7-6 (7-4) 6-1.
The loss means Britain will drop from their current world ranking of 108 and will be in a danger of qualifying for the Roland Garros/French Open in May.
Another setback was recorded as Aljaz Bendene was forced to retire as he as trailing German Jan-Lennard Struff 7-5 4-0.
