Head Coach of Accra Great Olympics, Godwin Attram has been the hindrance to Tom Strand’s appointment as the Head Coach of the club ghanamansports.com can confirm.
After helping the side secure promotion back to the elite division, Attram’s future has been thrown in doubt following their poor start to the Ghana Premier League this season.
A ‘rescue’ plan was put together by Talal and Fadi Fattal of the Global Village Media Group (the largest individual shareholder of Olympics) for consideration by the club’s Board of Directors to appoint Tom Strand to take over as Head Coach from the current player/coach, Godwin Attram, who fears the Swede would be a threat to his playing and coaching career.
Acccording to close sources, Attram has told the Directors of the club that he doesn’t want to be the assistant to Tom Strand.
Strand was supposed to start work as the Head Coach of Olympics by the close of the week but the deal is frozen due to Fred Pappoe’s backing of Attram to continue as the Head coach of the club.
