Italian champions Juventus rejected two offers for Ghanaian midfielder Kwadwo Asamoah in the January transfer window.
The Black Stars player had not been a regular for Juve due to a combination of injuries and stiff competition for places at the Italian champions.
It has emerged that Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen were keen on signing the West African player, while French Ligue 1 side Olympique Lyon also expressed an interest.
However, Juve decided against selling Asamoah and have been rewarded with a revival of the player’s form.
The Ghanaian has managed to reclaim a good level of match fitness and has proved to be a fine back-up for Alex Sandro.
Asamoah will hope to feature for the Italian champions when they face Napoli in a crunch Serie A match on Sunday night.
