KENYA GOVERNMENT TAKES HUGE STEPS TO UPLIFT SPORTS

A new initiative from the Kenyan government will see 50 percent of proceeds from betting companies , gaming and other lottery companies used for sports and culture development.

The new move will track all betting firms in the country and use half of their proceeds to rebrand sports, art and culture in the East African country.

In a new move to provide financial support for juvenile football , art and culture , the government slapped a 50 percent levy on all lottery firms and their betting counterparts which will be used to rebrand the sporting sector.

The policy if cleared by the parliament will provide financial muscle for a number of clubs and the art and culture sector in the not too distant future.

The domestic league in Kenya has been plunged into heated tussle with two sectors claiming ownership of the league which has affected the smooth running of the league.
