Suspended Baffana Baffana trainer Shakes Mashaba has won his case against the South African Football Association and look set to be reinstated as the new head coach. The former boss was asked to step aside following gross insubordination claims from SAFA but a legal tussle between Shakes and his employers ended in favour of the former.
Sources within South Africa hinted at the reinstatement of the embattled manager who look destined for a return to his former seat. A statement on kickoff.com hinted all but confirmed the return of Shakes Mashaba as the new manager for the Baffana Baffana pending approval from SAFA.
“We have won the case with the CCMA and SAFA have been ordered to allow Shakes Mashaba to continue his contract as the head coach of the senior national team, which runs until 2018,” a statement on kickoff reads .
Multiple reports in the global scene however hinted at a possible arrival of former Valencia and Italy boss Cesari Prandeli for the vacant Baffana seat. The South African side next return to competitive action in June with Nigeria on board for the 2019 Nation’s cup qualifiers.
