Chelsea forward Diego Costa will not face any retrospective ban from the Football Association as he was seen to have appeared to kick out at Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany.
Chelsea beat Manchester City 2-1 at Stamford Bridge yesterday with Eden Hazard’s brace doing the damage as Antonio Conte’s men extended maintained their 7 point league over second placed Tottenham Hotspurs who won at the Liberty Stadium 3-1 thanks to three late goals from Dele Alli, Hyeung Min Son and Christian Eriksen.
Reports claim Costa may face a ban after appearing to kick Kompany but the FA says the striker will not face any ban.
Referee of the day, Mike Dean in his referee’s report says he saw the incident and dealt with hence no retrospective ban.
Both managers Conte and Guardiola appeared not to have seen the incident as both claimed in their post match pressers.
Chelsea travel to the Vitality Stadium to face AFC Bournemouth at 16:30GMT while Manchester City will play host to relegation threatening Hull City at 14:00GMT on Saturday.
