Former player and coach of Kumasi Asante Kotoko, Malik Jabir has stated that he will never return to the Porcupine Warriors.
The legend of Ghana Football, Malik Jabir spoke to Boss FM this morning on the recent happenings in the Kumasi based club.
Asked wether he is ready to fill in the vacuum created as a result of Lugarusic’s sack, Malik Jair declined and said he is not given the needed respect in Kotoko.
He said” I have been with Kotoko from 1965 till date and so I know everything about the team but they do not respect my opinion”.
Malik Jabir went on to emphasis that “it was wrong to sack the coach at this time, at least they could have given him some time because he is now adapting to the team”.
“I do not know the coach neither do i know the new CEO of Kotoko, Dr. Kwame Kyei, but the Kotoko family should sit down and access the real problem as it goes beyond the coach”. He continued.
He then explained that “there was no need to push Micheal Osei away as his presence would have helped the coach to do things better.”
He then asked for calm and a round table solution to the problem to see the team doing better as expected.
Coach Johnny Johnny as he is affectionately called, also blamed the media for distorting his statements and therefore destroying his reputation especially in relation to Kotoko various management.
Malik Jabir led Kotoko to win the 1983 African Club’s Cup in Egypt which featured former General Manager Opoku Nti as the star man.
