Long serving Asante Kotoko goalkeeper and general captain, Isaac Amoako has spoken to Boss FM on the current happenings in the team.
He explained why the team is not playing well of late and why the general meeting held by the Management and players of the team was timely important.Isaac Amoako then revealed that the players alone had a meeting prior to the general one held by the Management.
On the performance of the team and the so called 3:5:2 system used by immediate past coach Zdravko Lugaruzic, Amoako said ” some players confirmed to me that they were finding it difficult to play at the positions given to them by the coach”.
He went on to deny that some of the players do not give their all and therefore play lackadaisically in order to disgrace the coaches or management.
The former Ashgold number one said” no professional player will do this to bring the team down, we get bonuses when we win, so I do not think any player in Kotoko will do this, it is basically down to certain individual problems that need to be solved”.
He continued thus, ” We the old players in the team have talked to the new ones who are finding things difficult and so have explained the trend to them respectively”, we hope they adhere to our advice to come out better as the fans demand.”
We are ready to give our all to ensure that the effort and resources being pushed into the team by our Director, Dr. Kwame Kyei do not go waste but bear prudent fruit for us and the fans.”
Amoako went on to praise his colleague goal keeper, Felix Annan for his recent performances for the team. “We are third on the league log and thats highly due to Felix Annan, he has been superb for the team and I take this opportunity to commend him”, Amoako confessed.
