SOUTH AFRICA’S JORDAN APPOINTED AS HEAD OF MARKETING AT CAF

The South African Football Association president Danny Jordaan has been roped in by CAF to become the new CAF Chairman of the Marketing and TV Committee.

Jordaan previously held the position of a chief organiser of the 2010 FIFA World Cup in his home country, South Africa.

On the other hand, the CAF 1988 African Player of the Year, Kalusha Bwalya heads the Technical and Development Committee.

Nigerian Football Federation Amaju Melvin Pinnick has taken the role of the President of the Organizing Committee for the Africa Cup of Nations.

The new appointments were announced during the inaugural meeting of the CAF Executive Committee on Monday in Manama, Bahrain.

It was also announced that Pinnick will have President of the Zimbabwe Football Federation Philip Chiyangwa as his deputy.

Reports indicate that this is the the first time in CAF’s 60-year history that a Nigerian would head the very influential Organizing Committee for the Africa Cup of Nations.

Furthermore, the CAF Executive Committee also named the President of Ghana Football Association, Kwesi Nyantakyi as first Vice-President, with his DR Congo opposite number Omani Constant Selemani named the second Vice-President.
