Ghana’s proposed international friendly with Togo will no longer hold, according to Super Sport.
The game had been scheduled to take place in Europe before the Black Stars head home to begin their quest for a ticket to the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations.
“We had a friendly match with Togo on June 6 in the UK on the cards but I’ve just been informed [by the legal committee] that it has been called off,” Wilfred Osei, the vice chairman of the Ghana senior national team management committee told supersport.com
Meanwhile, Osei also confirmed that the Black Stars will be hosting Ethiopia in the Afcon 2019 qualifiers at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi, a venue they abandoned close to three years ago.
”It was the proposal of the coach and we decided to accept it because that is where the team enjoys much support,” he said.
