Ghana-born midfielder Kevin Danso has received an invitation into the Austrian senior National team.
The defender was handed a call-up by Austria National team Coach Marcel Koller for a World Cup qualifier against Ireland on June 11.
His call-up came weeks after Coach Kwesi Appiah had hinted his plans to persuade some forigne players with Ghanaian roots into the Black Stars team.
Danso is believed to be one of the targets for the Black Stars Coach who had been monitoring the youngster at German Club Augsburg.
An appearance for the Austrian National team in June 11 clash will dash Ghana’s hopes of securing the services of the 18-year-old.
However the player will still be eligible to feature for the Black Stars should he reject the invite from the European country.
Born to Ghanaian parents, the former Milton Keynes Dons player has already represented Austria at junior level.
Kwesi Appiah meanwhile is reported to have begun attempts to have Ghanaian-born trio Timothy Fosu Mensah who has represented the Netherlands U17, Atletico Madrid’s Inaki Williams who was dropped from Spain’s provisional squad for the 2016 European Championship as well as Gideon Yung of German Club Hamburg SV.
