Former coach of Ebusua dwarfs and Great Olympics, coach J.E Sarpong, has commended the technical team of Black Stars for the kind of players invited for the African Cup qualifier against Ethiopia and double header friendlies with USA and Mexico.
Coach Sarpong spoke on Boss FM this afternoon. He said “Coach Akwasi Appiah and his staff have the experience to handle the National team”. “He is very lucky because he has backroom staff who have been there in terms of national team experience”.He continued.
He also explained thus; “Stephen Appiah and Richard Kingson are fresh with ideas and their recent successes with the Black Stars are good enough to help rebuild the team”.
On the 30 man squad, Coach J.E Sarpong commended Coach Appiah and his backroom staff,” they have have really done well with the kind of players, they have opened up the team selection and that is good for proper competition”. He emphasized.
“If you look at the selection carefully, you would see that the team is based on the youth and that is good for the future”. The former Dwarfs trainer said.
On the exclusion of goalkeeper Razak Briamah, Coach Sarpong said emphatically that “he blew his chance with those comments he make during the recently held AFCON 2017, he doesn’t deserve to wear our National colours so the coaches are right for dropping him”.
