The news reaching GhanaMansports.com indicates that former Hearts of Oak legend, Robert Hammond has passed away after suffering a short illness, sources say.
The ex Ghana International died in the US where he has been living with the family after he brought his playing career to an end. He died aged 67 years.
He was a joy to watch as he teemed with players like Mama Acquah, Anas Seidu, Peter Lamptey and Mohammed Ahmed Polo for Accra Hearts of Oak in what people described as the “Fearsome Five” during their days in the early 70’s. He was noted for his eye for creating and his eye for goals.
May his soul rest in peace.
