Ghanaian midfielder, Kwadwo Asamoah has received a good luck message from his childhood club, Asokwa Deportivo ahead of tomorrow’s UEFA Champions’ League final.
Asamoah’s Juventus face-off against defending champions and record winners, Real Madrid at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff, Wales on Saturday night for the biggest club prize in world football.
“The board of directors, management, supporters, playing body and the entire Asokwa Deportivo fraternity wish to congratulate our former player Kwadwo Asamoah on winning the Italian serie A,the Copa Italia as well as qualifying for the finals of the Uefa Champions League,” a well wish message signed by Board Secretary, Sammy Acheampong stated.
“We wish him and the entire Juventus team the best of luck in the finals of the UEFA Champions League this Saturday at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff,” the message continued.
“It is our prayer that the good Lord will help him win the Champions League to complete the treble which is unprecedented in the life of any Ghanaian footballer. We wish him and his team all the best, We also wish him an injury free 2017/18 season,” it added.
The 28 year old Asamoah could become the 6th Ghanaian to earn a Champions League winning medal should Juventus triumph over Madrid and his old club are praying the Ghanaian succeeds.
If he succeeds, Kwadwo Asamoah who lost the 2015 final to another Spanish giants, Barcelona with this same Juventus will join Abedi Pele, Ibrahim Tanko, Sammy Kuffour, Sulley Muntari and Michael Essien as only players from this country to lift the prestigious trophy.
