The Division One League Board has held media press soirées in Accra and Kumasi on Wednesday and Thursday respectively.
The soirées which were held for the Southern and the Northern Sectors were held to give the Division League Board (DOLB) and Officials of GN Bank (Headline Sponsors) an opportunity to interact with the media and other stakeholders ahead of the start of the second round of the 2016/17 season.
Key Officials of GN Bank were at both events and expressed satisfaction about this year’s edition of the Division One League.
“This year’s Division One League has been very competitive looking at the respective league tables. This is why we believe that we must create awareness about this wonderful product”, Mr. Alan Quaye who is the Head of centralized operations said at the Accra soirée at the M Plaza hotel.
He added that when evaluating their sponsorship agreement with the GFA, they will look the awareness about the league and it will play a key role in convincing the board to renew the contract which ends this season.
Board chairman of the DOLB Mr Akwasi Acheampong Owoahene also recounted the key highlights of this year’s league season.
” The presence of 7 division one clubs in the Round of 16 of the MTN FA Cup competition shows how strong the Division One League is “, Mr Owoahene stated.
He urged media men in the northern and southern sectors of the country to treat the division one League as their own and promote it on their programmes.
Media men from who attended both events called on the Division One clubs to stop the harassing them when they attend their matches.
The second round of the GN Division is expected to kick off on June 10 in all three zones.
