Accra Hearts of Oak captain, Thomas Abbey has told the club supporters to remain calm and cheer the club on as they seek to bounce back from their humiliating defeat suffered last week at the Red Bull Arena at Sogakope.

The Accra based club lost 5-0 to the Sogakope based club, WAFA last Sunday at the Red Bull Arena. That was Hearts of Oak heaviest defeat in the Ghana Premier League history causing an upset in the supporting hierarchy as they deliberated on why WAFA can score them 5-0. WAFA beat Hearts 3-0 last season at Sogakope and added two more to make it 5-0 this season.

Ahead of scoring for the Black Stars B in their 2-1 win over Gambia in friendly, Abbey told Crusader Sports;

“The supporters should keep calm, we have to keep the spirit alive, we understand their frustration after our defeat last Sunday, but I entreat them to keep the unity
in the team and hopefully things will turn around”.

Thomas Abbey will feature for Hearts of Oak as they take on Bolga All Stars on Friday in Matchday 18 of the Ghana Premier League
