Golden State Warriors has won the 2017 National Basketball Association after beating the Cleveland Cavaliers 129-120 in Game five to win the seven series 4-1.
The two opponents have faced off in the last three NBA finals with Cleveland Cavaliers winning the 2016 edition after coming back from a 3-1 loss to win 4-3 after the seven game series.
The Warriors beat the Cavaliers in 2015.
Golden State Warriors forward, Kevin Durrant who ensured his side took a 3-0 lead by scoring 11 points in the final 3 mins with a final three-pointer in 45s was adjudged the Most Valuable Player.
The 28 year old said after winning the MVP award;
“I couldn’t sleep for two days,” Durant said. “I was anxious, I was jittery.
“I just wanted to lay it all out there. I put in work, I just had to trust in it. We were really good tonight.”
The Warriors victory saw a run of 16-1 post season run, the best in the league’s history.
