Real Madrid forward, Cristiano Ronaldo has been accused of tax fraud by the Spanish prosecutors.
The prosecutors have alleged that the Portuguese has defraud the authorities millions of euros in relation to tax.
Ronaldo is being accused of evading tax of 14.7m euros (£13m; $16m) from 2011 to 2014.\
The prosecutor’s office in the capital have indicated that it has filed a lawsuit against the Portuguese player.
Ronaldo has earlier indicated that he isnt worried about tax investigations as he has nothing to hide and denied the allegations levelled against him in December telling Radio Television Portuguesa (RTP) “Quien no debe no teme”, which roughly translates as “He who has nothing to hide has no fear.”
The Spanish prosecutors say he is accused of knowingly using a “business structure” to hide income made from his image rights.
Ronaldo helped Real Madrid win their 12th European title and is the highest paid sportman according to the Forbes’ annual list of richest people.
