It’s true that both players are on the same island, Ibiza, enjoying some down time in the post season. It’ also true they went to the same restaurant — but on different days. Messi was there on Wednesday night, but with Luis Suarez, Cesc Fabregas and their respective partners and children.
Verratti, who spends every summer in Formentera, was at the restaurant on Tuesday. The PSG player was eating with his agent Donato di Campli, his club team-mate Pastore and his international team-mate Antonio Candreva. In fact, Verratti’s agent published a cryptic message on his Twitter account of him toasting with Marco when the stories of dinner with Messi first emerged.
So the only truth is that Messi and Verratti were in the same restaurant (Lio), but on different days and they didn’t coincide — will they coincide at Barça next season, though?
