​GHANA PREMIER LEAGUE: MATCHDAY 19 SEES HEARTS MOVE CLOSER TO THE TOP

Accra Hearts of Oak moved towards catching those on the top with a 2-0 away win at the Paa Kwesi Nduom’s Stadium.

The Phobians beat Elmina Sharks 2-0 thanks to early goal from Thomas Abbey, his 8th in the league and a striker’s goal from Kwame Kizito.
Hearts of Oak piled all the pressure but couldn’t get further goals to move just a point behind second place, Aduana Stars who lost to a penalty goal from Theophilus Ogoe.
The battle of Greater Accra saw Liberty Professionals come on top with a 1-0 win over Great Olympics with the solitary goal coming from Michael Ampadu.
The resurgence of AshantiGold SC under C.K Akunnor saw the Miners hit Inter Allies 3-0 to move to 13th on the league log. A brace from Hans Kwofie and a goal from substitute, Daniel Gozar compounded the miseries on International Allies.
Earlier on Saturday, Kumasi Asante Kotoko ended their homeless winning run in the league to beat Wa All Stars 2-1 thanks to goals from Obed Owusu and a milestone goal from Yakubu Mohammed. The second goal scored by Yakubu Mohammed was the 200th home league goal scored this season in the Ghana Premier League but Kotoko needed to hold their breath well as Kwaku Azuanzie pulled a goal back for the defending champions.
