NATHAN AKE IS BOURNEMOUTH’S BOUND IN A CLUB RECORD FEE

Chelsea youngster and Academy player, Nathan Ake has joined Premier League side, AFC Bournemouth in a club record fee.

The fee is believed to be around £20m plus a buyout clause and a 10% on-sale fee according to GhanaMansports.com sources.

The 22 year old versatile player was on loan at the Cherries before being recalled back to Chelsea in January, helping the club win the Premier League title and also reach the final of the Emirates FA Cup. Bournemouth shown their interest to sign him permanently in January but Chelsea rejected their bid but have their player now.

He made 12 PL appearances for Bournemouth, scoring 3 goals including the winner against Liverpool after they have to come back from 3-1 down.

Chelsea confirmed on their Twitter handle that the Dutch has joined AFC Bournemouth permanently, wishing him well in the process.

Ake, 22, then took to his Twitter page to thank Management and Board of Chelsea alongside the fans and the playing body saying;

“It’s an exciting challenge. Chelsea is a great club and I learned so much there but this is a new step and the right place for me to develop even more”.

“The fans haven’t seen the best of me yet. I always set the bar high so I know there is a lot of things I still have to work on. With the help of the manager here I know I can keep improving and become a better player”.

Eddie Howe, manager of Bournemouth said this after securing the Dutch services;

“I am delighted that we have completed the signing of Nathan on a permanent basis”.

“He is someone we know all about, having had a very successful loan spell here last season”.

“Nathan is an outstanding young player with a fantastic attitude and a great desire to learn and develop”.

“He has a very bright future ahead of him and I’m very pleased to say that his future is here”.

Nathan Ake made his international debut for the Netherlands in March when the Dutch played Morocco in a friendly.
