Kumasi Asnate Kotoko yesterday presented the 2017 Presidential Cup won at the expense of their arch rivals, Accra Hearts of Oak to the owner and life patron of the club, Otumfour Osei Tutu II.
The Porcupine Warriors beat the Phobians 4-1 on penalties after a goalless drawn game last week Monday in the Presidential Cup. The game which was scheduled to be played on Sunday was rained off in the 68th minute after a 1-1 draw and was scheduled to be replayed the next day.
Kotoko created opportunities but could not beat goalkeeper, Benjamin Mensah in post for Hearts and the goal post but beat their rivals on penalties.
The management, technical staff, players and staff were at the Manhyia Palace to pay a courtesy call on Otumfour and also present to him the trophy won.
Otumfour asked them to up their performances and also win more trophies to the club and will do all within his capacity to improve the welfare of the club and its staff.
The leader of delegation was the CEO of the club, Dr. Kwame Kyei who seized on the opportunity to introduce players and head coach, Steve Pollack to the life patron.
Dr. Kwame Kyei also thanked Otumfour for the continuous support handed the club and calls for more support.
Otumfour thanked the coach and tasked him to help sustain the club and bring it to the peril it deserves.
Kumasi Asante Kotoko will play Inter Allies in Matchday 22 of the Ghana Premier League.
