WORLD PARA ATHLETICS LATEST: 40 YEAR OLD RICHARD WHITEHEAD WINS GOLD IN T42 200M

40 year old Richard Whitehead has won British’s fourth gold medal at the 2017 World Para-Athletics at London in the T42 200m final.

Richard Whitehead finishes in championship best-time

Whitehead who is close to his 41st birthday on Wednesday won in a championship best time of 23.26 secs.

“I’m 41 on Wednesday, it doesn’t doesn’t get any easier. I’ve reaped the rewards of hard work and dedication. I have a great team around me supporting me during the highs and lows”, the 200m gold medallist said.

They say life begins at 40 and Whitehead who is a double Olympic gold medalist is really showing that life indeed begins at 40.

Great Britain currently has nine medals to show for.
