Ghana Black Starlets goalkeeper, Ibrahim Danlad has indicated that winning the Golden Gloves is his main objective ahead of the upcoming FIFA U17 World Cup in India.
The goalkeeper who won the Golden gloves at the African U17 Championship held in Gabon after conceding just one goal in the entire competition and saving two penalties in the final game which Ghana lost to Mali is one of the key players as Ghana prepare for the Youth Championship in India.
The 15-year old Asante Kotoko’s youth goalkeeper, is setting his sights on showing the entire world what he is made up of as he wants to win the Golden gloves at the World Cup by helping his country win the tournament.
The Black Starlets will pitch camp at Denmark ahead of the tournament as they seeks to win the coveted trophy for the third time.
“I have written it in my diary to be the best at the World Cup”, said Danlad.
“I planned to win the golden gloves at the AFCON and I did it. I’m training towards my target at the World Cup and I believe I will be the best goalkeeper”, the 15 year old indicated.
Ghana, two time World Champions at the U17 level will be making a first time appearance for a decade and have been drawn alongside hosts India, USA and Columbia in group A.
The FIFA U17 World Cup starts in India on 6th October, 2017.
