Ghanaian international, Mubarak Wakaso has indicated that his family was key to him signing for Spanish side, Deportivo Alaves.
The former AshantiGold midfielder joined the club from Panathinakos in Greece and signed a three year contract with the club with an option for a fourth.
Wakaso, 26, revealed that he had to seek advise from his family and friends before signing for the club as he penned his signature for his 6th Spanish side.
He told the club website; “The messages from my friends and my family are that Alavés is a good team for me and this, plus what I saw last year from the team, is the best for me”. “I will contribute 100% to achieve the goal of the club”.
He also predicted that Alaves will have “a good year and a good season” adding that the best league in the world is undoubtedly the “La Liga Santander”. He also indicated that he is a “hot-blooded” player but on the field and not “outside” as he is working to control it.
Alaves sorting director, Sergio Fernandez accompanied him and also confirmed that he was an “interest of the club” and was a “priority objective”.
Head coach of the club added: “He will bring us energy, physical work, dynamism and the joy that at certain moments of football is needed”.
Wakaso becomes the eighth recruit this summer for Deportivo Alaves.
