Juventus has completed the signing of Wojciech Szczesny from Arsenal in a deal worth £10m.
Szczesny, 27, who spent two seasons in Rome playing for AS Roma has signed a four year deal with the Italian Champions with an option of a fifth. He made 132 appearances for the Gunners before he was deemed surplus to requirement by Wenger, sending him on loan to AS Roma.
The Polish played 38 games last season for AS Roma keeping 14 clean sheets (the most in the division) as Roma finished below Juventus and qualified for this year’s UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE.
Juventus are with Neto and regular first team shot stopper, Gianluigi Buffon and will be competing with these two for a place in the post and said after completing his deal; “When you come to Juve, it’s because you’ve been chosen. I had no hesitation”.
“I’m ready for a new challenge- Juventus is the best choice for the next stage of my career”, the former Arsenal player said.
“I’m really happy to be here. I’ve already spoken to Buffon, a legend in our game, and I can learn a lot from him”.
“I’m not feeling any pressure, I’m here to represent the club at the highest level”, says Szczesny.
