SPORTS MINISTRY SET TO SETTLE ARREARS OWED BLACK STARS TECHNICAL STAFF

The Sports Ministry is set to settle arrears owed the Black Stars technical staff after they receive US$ 1.5 million from GNPC, the state Petroleum regulators.

The technical staff headed by Katakyie Dr. James Akwasi Appiah are owed three months salaries and allowances since beginning work in May this year.

The spokesperson for the Sports Ministry, Elvis Adjei Baah told reporters; ”I can confirm to you that an amount of $1.5m have been released to the sports ministry to cater for expenses of the Black Stars technical team and general sports development”.

”No time-line can be giving to clear the arrears owned the technical team, it can be today or tomorrow but it will be soon.”, he added.

Ghana will prepare for a double header against Congo Brazaville come September as thy bid to make it a fourth consecutive World Cup appearance.
