Hollard Insurance Ghana Limited, the official insurance company of Kumasi Asante Kotoko has given the family of Mr. Thomas Obeng Asare GHȼ30,000.
The amount is the insurance package for the late deputy equipment officer of Asante Kotoko who lost his life when Kotoko had an accident at Nkawkaw when their team bus ran into a stationary vehicle leaving others injured.
The presentation of the cheque was received on behalf of the family by Kotoko Legal affairs manager, Yaw Boafo at the club’s secretariat in Kumasi on Friday.
“Hollard Ghana have been grief-stricken as a result of the road accident involving the team that resulted in several injuries and the death of Mr. Obeng Asare, the deputy equipment manager of the team” said Hollard Insurance.
“We want to use this medium to assure the entire playing body and management team of Asante Kotoko of our support and commitment to fulfill our promise of compensating, the team with our Group Personal Accident Insurance Policy”, the group added.
Hollard Insurance entered into an insurance partnership with Asante Kotoko in 2016. They had earlier visited the team at Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital to wish them well and promised them of compensating them the packages due them and have stood by their promise.
