Isaac Dogbe still remains unbeaten after 17 bouts after he saw off Javier Chacon from Argentina in round 7 to defend his WBO international super bantamweight belt at the Bukom Boxing Arena.
The 22 year old threw heavy punches on his opponent from the start of the bout and handed a deep cut to his Argentine opponent from a jab in the fourth round.
Chacon was unable to cope with Dogbe’s heavy punches as he became hapless in the seventh round and was unable to continue the bout.
Ex President, Jerry John Rawlings was at the ringside watching the bout and touted the 22 year old as the next successor to boxing and Ghanaian great, Azumah Nelson.
Dogbe, who beat his opponent could not hide his joy as he added another win to his undefeated bouts played sending it to 17 with 11 being knockout and was quick to say;
“Chacon is a very tough fighter, he can move his head very well, but irrespective of that I knew that I will take him down”
“I’m ready for the world title because that has been my target from day one”, he added.
