THOMAS ABBEY: I AM READY FOR THE TOP-SCORER AWARD

Hearts of Oak captain, Thomas Abbey has indicated that he is ready for the top-scorer award as he seeks to claim the goal-king of the Ghana Premier League.

The versatile midfielder has scored 12 goals for Accra Hearts of Oak to move joint top of the top-scoring chart alongside Ahmed Toure after 24 round of games in the Ghana Premier League.

Abbey, who scored twice as Hearts of Oak beat Tema Youth 3-1 at the Accra Sports stadium yesterday told Kumasi based Metro FM; “I’m ready to win the goal king award”.

“I have been scoring and my teammates deserve all the praise for their support”, he added.

“I want to score more to win the award but I have not targeted the number of goals I want to end the season with”, the skipper reiterated.
He also indicated that his club is also ready and looking forward to winning the Ghana Premier League with six games left to be played. He indicated that they are doing all they can to amass all the maximum points to enable them leapfrog Aduana Stars to the summit of the table.
Accra Hearts of Oak currently lies 3rd with 39 points after 24 games albeit having one game in hand.
