Dutch and Southampton defender, Virgil van Dijk has been excluded from Southampton’s training tour in France.
Van Dijk joined Southampton from Celtic in 2015 and has been an integral member of the Saints squad.
Dijk, 26, who is seeking a move away from the St. Mary’s has been linked to Liverpool despite Saints boss, Mauricio Pellegrino insisting the player is not for sale.
Pellegrino said last week that Van Dijk is at training but felt the player is “not 100%” fit mentally.
The Netherlands player suffered a anterior cruciate ligament in February to rule him out for the rest of the season and despite back to training and joining his team for preseason in Austria, he has been left out for the trip to France as they prepare for the season opener against Swansea City on 12th August.
