Accra Hearts of Oak has offered Thomas Abbey a new contract, GhanaMansports.com sources can reveal.
The Hearts of Oak skipper has its contract ending at the end of the season and with his impeccable performances for the Phobians this season, the club hierarchy has offered him a new deal.
The Prampram-born versatile player has been a revelation for the club as his 12 Ghana Premier League goals has propelled Accra Hearts of Oak to 3rd on the GPL table with just five points behind league leaders, Aduana Stars with six games to play albeit having played a game less.
Abbey who scored a brace as Hearts of Oak beat Tema Youth 3-1 on Sunday even revealed this to Nhyira Sports, a local FM station based in Kumasi this morning that he knows his contract is about ending and has been offered a contract by Hearts of Oak.
He said that the club hierarchy had contacted him on the extension and has indicated to them that his agent is not in the country so they should exercise patience and wait till his agent arrives so as a new deal can be penned.
When asked if his contract expiring at Hearts of Oak will have a tall effect on his performances, the versatile player was quick to say ‘NO’ adding that he is ready to improve upon his performances to help Accra Hearts of Oak win the league and to also win the GPL top-scorer award.
