THOMAS ABBEY: ‘I WILL BE UNFAIR TO HEARTS OF OAK TO JOIN KOTOKO’

Accra Hearts of Oak skipper, Thomas Abbey has indicated that he ‘will be unfair to Hearts of Oak if he joins Kotoko’.

Thomas Abbey has been a centre of speculation with his contact with the Phobians due to expire at the end of the season though the versatile player has indicated that a contract extension has been tabled for him.

Abbey, 22, who has scored 12 goals for Hearts and lies joint top of the top-scoring chart alongside Bechem United’s Ahmed Toure has made the headlines due to his impeccable performances; the latest being a brace in Accra Hearts of Oak 3-1 win over Tema Youth on Sunday.

Thomas Abbey was interviewed by Atinka FM, a local radio in Ghana about the possibility of joining rivals Asante Kotoko as speculations have it that rich Kotoko supporter, Charles Dwamenya is ready to buy the player to don the colours of the Porcupinw Warriors. Abbey said;

“For now, I’m not sure I can play for Kotoko. I am a professional player but I can’t join them”.

“I know that the two clubs are not enemies but at the moment, I’m not ready to play for Kotoko”, he continued.

“That will be unfair to Hearts of Oak if I decide to join Kotoko”, the Hearts of Oak captain reiterated.
