2017 WAFU TOURNAMENT DRAW HELD

The draw for the 2017 West African Football Union (WAFU) tournament was held today at the Labadi beach hotel in Accra.

The 2017 WAFU tournament which is officially sponsored by FOX Sports will run from 9th September to 24th September, 2017 at the Sekondi Stadium in Takoradi and the Cape Coast Stadium.

The format of the tourney is in two folds of which the first fold is to pair the 16 nations in a knockout ties with the winners grouped in two groups of four each.

Ghana has been handed the hosting rights and the Black Stars B were drawn to play The Gambia in the knockout round.

The 16 nations were grouped in two zones with each zone comprising of 8 countries. Zone A will be based at the Sekondi Stadium in Takoradi with Zone B taking over the Cape Coast Stadium.

The final of the tournament will be played on September 24.
