Black Stars ‘B’ head coach, Maxwell Konadu has indicated that they ‘needed to add some players’ to the team ahead of the CHAN qualifiers against Burkina Faso due to some players unavailable because of trials.
Maxwell Konadu called 28 players to begin camping at Ghana Soccer Center of Excellence, Prampram for the qualifiers against Burkina Faso in Ouagadougou.
The ex-Kotoko head coach indicated that the trials are hindering preparations for his team hence the need to invite other players to beef up his squad. He told the media; “When you observe the team, we brought in Saddick Adams”.
“We are not saying he is going to do everything but we think with the short period he has been in the league he is doing well and the team is for all Ghanaians”, he added.
“We have been doing well but I think we can do better and that is why we have called some of these players”, he reiterated.
“Defensively, when we are attacking we do well. Most of our goals are scored and created by our defenders and wingers and so we are encouraging the strikers to score”, he continued.
“For instance if you look at WAFA’s Lomotey, he is good but he is not with the team, we are struggling to get through to him so we need to beef up of the so we can get a good result in Burkina”, he indicated.
