Head of Communications at the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Saanie Daara has indicated that they are ‘committed to improving the training pitches and the stadiums’ for the 2017 West African Football Union (WAFU) tournament.
Saanie Daara who also indicated that they are ready to host the tournament in a month’s time told Finder Sports in an interview; “The hotels are set; we have got the high class hotels to serve everyone”.
“We had the team workshop and we have shown the hotels to them”, he continued.
“We are particularly committed to improving the pitch, improving certain aspects of the stadiums and I am confident that by the time the tournament starts, we will be able to do the training pitches and all the other facilities”, he added.
He also spoke about how the tournament is being publicised indicating that the Local Organising Committee (LOC) is doing their best to get the hype the tournament deserves.
He said; “Mind you that it is the WAFU Cup of Nations and not the Ghana Football Association”.
“But the LOC is working hard; part of it is that we still playing the league competition and where do loyalties lie. With the launch and the draw and everything I am very sure it will pick up and people are going to talk about it”, he lamented.
