Alexander Zverev from Germany has beaten South African Kevin Anderson in straight sets at the Citi Open final.
Zverev, 20, beat the Anderson 6-4 6-4 in an hour and nine minutes in Washington to win his fourth ATP title of the season.
The German who is the youngest tennis player to win four ATP titles in a single season since Juan Martin del Potro did same in 2008 looks forward to replicating this form in the US Open at Flushing Meadows when it kick starts on 28th August, 2017.
Elsewhere, Ekaterina Makarova from Russia needed a 2-1 win to beat Julia Goerges from Germany in the Women’s final.
The Russian won 3-6 7-6 (7-2) 6-0 t secure her third WTA singles title.
American Madison Keys also won the Stanford Bank of the West Classic in California after a 7-6 (7-4) 6-4 over country-mate American Coco Vandeweghe.
